Word Combiner
Enter 2 or 3 words and find all words that can be made from their combined letters.
What Is a Word Combiner?
A word combiner merges the letters from two or three words into a single pool, then finds every valid English word that can be formed from that combined set. It's useful in word games when you want to see what words are possible across multiple racks, or when combining player hands in cooperative games.
How to Use the Word Combiner
- Enter two words in the input boxes (a third is optional).
- All letters from both words are pooled together automatically.
- Click "Find Words" to search for valid combinations.
- Use filters to target specific lengths or letter patterns.
- Click any result word to see its definition and point score.
When Is Combining Letters Useful?
In co-operative word games, two players can combine their tile racks to search for longer, higher-scoring words that neither could form alone. It also helps when a teacher wants to show students how many words can hide within a longer word or phrase — a concept central to vocabulary building exercises.
Combining vs. Unscrambling
- Unscrambling: find words from one set of letters.
- Combining: pool letters from multiple words first, then unscramble.
- The combined letter count can be up to 30 characters.
- All standard filters (length, starts/ends with) still apply.
- Scrabble scores are shown for every result.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many words can I combine?
You can combine up to three words at once. The letters from all words are merged into one pool before the search begins.
Does order matter?
No — the tool treats the combined letters as an unordered pool. It doesn't matter which word you enter in which box.
Can I use wildcards?
Wildcard support (?) works at the individual word level. If you need a blank tile, type ? in one of the word fields and it will carry over into the combined pool.
